Work with the Library, notes, tasks and memory
Open, download, rename and delete the files of the work, and keep notes, tasks and memories by hand or through the agent.
Checked on Desktop 0.1.19
A newer version is out (Desktop 0.1.25): some details may differ.
What each of these is for is explained in Where work lives. Here is how to work with them. The agent does the same through its tools.
The Library
Section titled “The Library”Open Library in the sidebar. Every file has six actions, gathered under one … button and the right-click menu: Open, Download, Rename, Show in folder, Copy path and Delete.
- Rename happens inside the row: Enter confirms, Esc cancels. A name with characters the system does not accept is refused at once.
- Copy path appears only when the path was recorded; older entries have five actions, not six.
- Delete asks for confirmation, and the confirmation states the consequence: deleted for good, with no way back. Focus goes to the way out, not to the button that deletes, so one Enter too many destroys nothing.
There is no bin: deleting removes the file for real. The other five actions ask nothing, because none of them breaks anything.
If a file is listed but does not open, it was moved or deleted outside TALOS: Show in folder says where it should be.
Open Notes in the sidebar to create, open, edit and delete notes — yours and the agent’s, with the same functions. Times are relative for 24 hours (“today 14:32”, “yesterday 09:10”), then become dates.
Open Tasks in the sidebar to create, open, edit and delete tasks, filter them by state and search their text. The agent creates and updates the same tasks while it works. A row whose state or author was not recorded says so.
Memory
Section titled “Memory”Open Memory in the sidebar to create, open, edit and delete memories, search their text and filter them by kind. A memory without a kind says so, instead of being filed under one of the four. If a memory you expected is missing, it was never written: memory is not an automatic recording of the conversation.
