Run a deep research
Turn one question into a report with claims, steps, verdicts and sources, and follow, pause, resume or check it again.
Checked on Desktop 0.1.19
A newer version is out (Desktop 0.1.25): some details may differ.
A deep research turns one question into a report: many readings, then a document with its claims, the steps taken, the verdicts and the sources. The report is the thing you consult; the session is how it was made.
Run one
Section titled “Run one”- Open Deep research in the sidebar, or ask the agent in a conversation — it starts one with
research_start. - Follow it in the list: its state says where it stands.
- Open the report when it is done. Citations export to the standard bibliography formats.
Depending on its state, a research can be paused, resumed, checked again or deleted. An action appears only in the states where it can do something.
Read its state
Section titled “Read its state”| State | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Running | It is searching and reading. | Wait, or pause it. |
| Paused | Stopped half way. | Resume it. |
| Done | There is a report — the only state that says so. | Read it. |
| Canceled | Stopped before the report; what it gathered stays in its sources. | Start it again if needed. |
| Failed | It stopped on an error. | Run it again. |
| Interrupted by the provider | The model’s service stopped half way, for a passing reason. Not an error of the research. | Resume it. |
| Without a report | It reached the end without depositing the document. | Run it again. |
| Blocked | The session was read-only and could not deliver. | Resume it with a permission that writes. |
| Turns exhausted | It used up its turns before concluding. | Narrow the question and run it again. |
A state the app does not know reads “state not recorded” — never “done”.
What it does not do
Section titled “What it does not do”The model’s last message is not the report. It appears only under how the research went, labeled for what it is, and never in the report’s panel.
