Use the Library in chats
Bring files in, attach them to a message, decide how much of the Library a chat may read — for every chat, one chat, or the next message.
Checked on Android 0.1.38
A newer version is out (Android 0.1.40): some details may differ.
The Library holds what you bring, what TALOS makes, and the pages it reads — see Your data on the phone. A chat can use it in two ways: you attach a file, or the model reads the Library by itself, as far as you allow.
Bring files in
Section titled “Bring files in”- In the Library, tap Add file and pick files from the phone. They are copied in; nothing is uploaded.
- In a chat, Attach takes files, images or Library files: up to 6 per message, 10 MB each, 20 MB in all.
- With Auto-save generated files, in Settings → AI Defaults, the documents and images a chat makes are saved to the Library by themselves.
The Library shows images, files and saved links, as a grid or a list, grouped by the chat that produced them. Each file can be opened, shared, saved to the phone or deleted, and says where it came from.
Private or shared
Section titled “Private or shared”Each file is either available to every chat or only available where explicitly attached. A private file stays out of every chat you did not attach it to, whatever the settings below say.
Let chats read the Library
Section titled “Let chats read the Library”Settings → AI Defaults → Let chats use your Library lets the model use your Library as context. It adds tokens to every message. Choose a Library context mode first:
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Broad compatibility | Includes every eligible document that fits the context budget. |
| Relevant sources only | Uses only documents with evidence that they relate to the conversation. |
| Ask before using sources | Finds candidate sources, then asks before any document is sent to the model. |
| Only when requested | Adds nothing by itself; the model uses the Library tools when asked and allowed. |
The Library tools themselves — browse, search, read — also need Library access, in Settings → Privacy and permissions, and the read power.
One chat, or the next message
Section titled “One chat, or the next message”- Context for this chat — inherit the global setting, turn the Library off for this chat, or include or exclude single files.
- Library context for the next message — a mode and single files for one message only. The choice clears once TALOS accepts the message.
Excluding always wins over including, and private files stay unavailable either way.
