Improve a prompt
Have what you wrote rewritten into a clearer brief before you send it, at the depth you choose.
Checked on Desktop 0.1.19
A newer version is out (Desktop 0.1.25): some details may differ.
When you know what you want but wrote it in a hurry, TALOS can rewrite it into a clearer brief before it goes. You see the proposal next to your text and decide whether to keep it.
Improve
Section titled “Improve”- Write the message as it comes.
- Open Improve the prompt from the composer.
- Choose the depth, and if you like the model that does it — it can differ from the conversation’s.
- Read the proposal next to the original; keep it or discard it.
| Depth | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lean | Same length. Clarifies the goal and the expected result, adds no sections. |
| Balanced | A clear brief: goal, expected result, the constraints you already wrote, two or three checks. The default. |
| Extended | A full brief: scope, format of the answer, constraints, edge cases and acceptance criteria. |
For a long piece of work, Extended pays off: acceptance criteria written first are what later tells you whether the work is done.
What it does not do
Section titled “What it does not do”- It sends nothing by itself. Sending stays your gesture.
- It does not know what you want. It orders and completes what you wrote: a constraint you did not write is not invented. When your text is already right and only needs clarity, use Lean.
- It costs a call to the model. It is real work, not local formatting.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- The proposal is longer but not clearer — go down to Lean: rewriting a good text a lot makes it worse.
- Nothing arrives — like any call to the model, it needs a configured access. See Connect a provider.
